How to Lose Pregnancy Weight

Did you just have a baby, congratulations! I hope motherhood is agreeing with you. Other than the new bundle of joy in your life, I bet your wondering how you’re going to get your body back into the shape it was before your pregnancy. I’m pretty sure that you would much rather spend quality time with your new baby than having to run off to the gym for a couple of hours everyday.

It can be really difficult, once having a baby to lose weight after pregnancy. There are ways you can lose pregnancy fat and spend time with your new child. Here are some things you can do to help lose that extra weight without having to sacrifice your precious time with your new baby.

First things first, you need to watch what you eat. Due to hormones, your body during pregnancy before and after can go through many emotional stress. Your body is trying to get back to the same hormone levels you had before you were pregnant. You will experience all these food cravings because of your change in hormones. Since your not pregnant, you can’t use the excuse your eating for two anymore. To control your cravings, you need to monitor that amount of sugar your taking in and stabilize it. Try eating often throughout the day and eating in small quantities. Instead of eating 2-3 large meals a day, it is more beneficial in weight loss to eat 5-6 small meals a day.

Second,not only is breast feeding good for your baby, it’s also good for you! You can lose more weight if you breast feed.  It’s hard to believe but there is a biological reason why you gain weight during pregnancy. In order for you to lactate and feed your baby, you body needs to store fat. You can burn up to 500-700 calories a day just by breast feeding. A great way to bond with your child is to breast feed plus the added bonus is it’s the greatest way to burn calories.

Third, you can show off your new baby and lose weight by taking a walk around the neighborhood. Your neighbors and friends are probably all dying to see your new baby, so instead of having them come to visit you, why not get some exercise and put your child in a stroller and walk all over the neighborhood to show him or her off. Your friends and neighbors are probably excited to meet your new addition in the family and instead of them coming over, why don’t you take your little bundle of joy for a walk in the stroller. Walking is a fast exercise to lose weight, it might also help with the stress in being a new mother too.

Don’t forget it’s not crucial for your to lose pregnancy weight fast. Having a baby takes a big toll on your body, try to pace losing weight. Try to lose weight as safely and natural as you can, for your baby’s sake. Don’t you want to start off motherhood as safe as  you can, for your baby by losing weight safely and naturally . Be patient and soon you will lose that pregnancy fat and be able to fit in your little black dress again.
