Walking Is A Great Way To Fast Fat Loss

March 10th, 2010 by Patrick in Lose Weight

Walking is hard to beat as a simple readily available way to exercise. Take a friend along and get started on your program to get weight loss fast. Walking uses all of the body and so lots of muscles are used which will burn those calories both during the exercise and for quite a while after.

Your goals will be achieved quicker by using the big muscle groups. Your leg muscles are a large part of your muscle mass and will therefore burn those calories faster and help get that weight loss fast.

Exercising stomach muscles is the least effective way to get rid of stomach fat as it is proportionally a very small muscle. The fat a lot of men find on their stomach is best reduced by using the major muscle groups rather than the small ones. So it is best to look for any exercise that can use the large muscles rather than the small.

The good thing about walking is that it is low impact relative to many exercises and so tendons and joints are less likely to be injured than if you took up running, especially at the start of an exercise program. Walking can be built in to other activities such as a game of golf, and if you are like me then this can mean quite a bit of walking. Take a walk out along a beach at dawn and dusk, what could be better.

If you are feeling fitter then go out for a game of tennis, or soccer, or a friendly game of basketball or baseball. These activities all use the major muscle groups and will burn those calories and assist in losing that weight fast.

In order to improve even faster and benefit more from your walk then diet is critical. Fruit and vegetables, especially fresh will provide the vitamins you need and keep you feeling as though you are full for longer. Another tip is to try and have a smaller meal for dinner so that your body does not go into storage mode while you are sleeping.

To stop cravings smaller meals taken more often is the answer. skipping a meal to lower food consumption is not the answer as your body will overcompensate and store any calories it can locate so that it won’t starve.

To continue on the theme of small, small mouthfuls of food, well chewed are also a good idea. By doing this the body has more of a chance to be able to signal that the stomach is full. To kick start your metabolism it is not a good idea to skip breakfast. This is what starts the body working in the morning.

And last but not least water is very important to the human body for most bodily functions. Dehydration also affects the brain function and reasoning ability. Having a glass of water can also help to reduce hunger pangs before the next meal is due.

Healthy Weight Loss Is Really Important

January 6th, 2010 by Patrick in Lose Weight

People in North America in particular have had a deteriorating diet and a battle with healthy weight loss. Many have tried all kinds of diets, we have cut out food groups, counted calories, kept food diaries, and generally tried to eat less than what we crave. We often do see weight loss when on a diet, which provides some motivation. We lose this again when we put the weight back on at the end of the diet, and often gain even more.

What in fact we need is to not go on a diet, but rather change the type of food we are eating, and move to healthy alternatives . It would be great to eat what-ever we wanted but we will gain weight and suffer the consequences to our health.

Healthy weight loss must also incorporate an effective exercise program, and many diet programs neglect to even mention this. Many diet plans are unexciting, monotonous, and minus any flavor. We are dying for them to end, only to then put all the weight back on.

Repeat dieting, and following the latest fad, often just makes it more difficult to lose weight. Our bodies don’t know what is happening and can get all out of synch. What we really need is a healthy lifestyle with lots of fresh and unprocessed food in modest quantities, that can also satisfy out cravings, and one that we can stick to for the rest of our lives.

In order to be successful with healthy weight loss we need to follow a plan that is simple, logical, and easy to implement. We need to be satisfied, otherwise we will not stay with it. It has to be healthy with the right mix of macro-nutrients so we will lose weight and start to feel more empowered.

Healthy weight loss should also be gradual and incremental so that when we look in the mirror we can see sustainable progress. This will strengthen our desire to continue, rather than the diet and binge cycle that is often evident .

Diets basically fail most people and more than once, they do not produce long-term benefits, and often make us feel worse about ourselves rather than better. This can be an emotional roller coaster which doesn’t help us to stick with the diet.

A diet fails in the long run because by reducing calorie consumption our genetics kick in and push the body to adjust and move to a survival approach. Our body slows metabolism and tries to store even more fat, and will also tend to use muscle for fuel in preference. By being on a diet we have likely lost muscle which will slow our metabolism. This leads to gaining even more fat even only when we are eating what we did before until we can regain the muscle.

Healthy weight loss does not incorporate the ideas of many diets which are geared to reducing food consumption  to lower weight. Lower weight is not the only goal.. Individuals involved in a regular exercise program often find that they do not lose any weight. How-ever they are losing fat and gaining muscle.

We need to stop our fascination with the latest diet fad and shift emphasis to a balanced workout regime supported by a balanced and healthy diet. This diet will incorporate all the elements of healthy eating and be low in fat, have adequate protein from a variety of sources, and fresh carbohydrate to give the muscles the energy needed.

How To Get Ripped Abs

December 29th, 2009 by Patrick in Lose Weight

To really make progress in getting ripped abs you will need to find the ways to lose weight that you can keep with and work out the very best for you. For abdominal muscles to show through the fat cover has to be eliminated, otherwise you will never get that ripped look. A great first step is to lift the level of activity tha you are doing each day. a simple start is to go for a walk at lunchtime, or a jog before or after work. As you get a little fit you might move on to some sport, or go to some gym classes for both cardiovascular and resistance training.

The second point is that the type of food eaten and the quantity needs to be adjusted in order to lose weight. Shopping at the supermarket gives lots of opportunity to fill the trolley with processed food and other items that are not going to help weight loss. Instead try to purchase fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat and small quantities of dairy, and it will be a good start to getting that ripped look.

You will notice your energy increasing as you lose some pounds. This provides some great motivation to get going on additional activities that you may not have been interested in before. Another bonus is that with correct diet and exercise your chances of catching many diseases declines as you immune system is revitalized, you will even be less likely to catch the common cold.

As you reduce your fat layers and your abdominals begin to show you will start to feel better about yourself and you will feel like getting involved in lots of other activities. If you feel good and look good those big problems no longer seem as big, they will seem easier to crack, and all of those tasks you have been putting off will be finished more easily.

To enter into a yo-yo of losing and gaining weight can really unsettle your metabolism, it is best to avoid if at all possible. Slow and steady is a far better approach to taking weight off and should be done to a plan. If the program is too hard to start with people may often give up and the temptation is to quit. If you continuously gain and lose weight by going on a diet and falling off it your body will often gain more weight that before your dieting.

If you want to get ripped abs then the key is to approach this methodically and to follow a program which will help keep the weight off for the rest of your life. As much as we would like quick results and develop the great body of our dreams, it is not the right option to hit it hard.

With regard to food it is a lot better if the meals are small and taken more often than to eat big meals, especially at the end of the day. Avoid processed snacks and stick with healthy and preferably fresh food items. Eat slowly to give your body time to feel full, and watch out for those second helpings and food left over that provides another temptation after dinner. A practice that benefits some people is to dish your normal helping and then halve it onto another plate, it is very surprising how much we are overeating and the smaller quantity that we really need.

5 Healthy Ways To Lose Weight

September 15th, 2009 by Patrick in Lose Weight

The world is fascinated with a healthy weight diet, some for health reasons and others for cosmetic. No matter the reason, many people try harsh diets that never work, extreme exercise regimens that result in injuries or other weight loss program that end without success. The reason that none of these weight loss methods seem to work is because in order to stay with a program, you have to enjoy it. Not only that, but it has to be safe as well.

You can lose weight without throwing out your favorite food or spending countless hours in the gym and here are 5 genuine tips to help. Any program to lose weight will take time realistically. People who promise you different are either lying or simply uninformed. Follow one single weight loss program for 30 days, whatever it may be, and see if you have results. Move on to to something else if you have to. Check out several tips to get started today while you wait.

Tip # 1
Walking. You can strengthen your legs and heart as well burn some calories in the process just by setting aside 30 minutes each day to enjoy a leisurely stroll.

Tip # 2
Utilize a mini cycle. These portable little exercise units offer the look of bicycle pedals set up on a metal bar, but without the high price or weight of a standard exercise bike. With a mini cycle, you can pedal at your desk, on the couch or anywhere else that you can comfortably set and reach the pedals.

Tip # 3
Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. This is a terrific weight loss exercise without even noticing the extra effort. Simply taking a few extra steps everyday will have great benefits as far as losing weight is concerned. Park in the middle of the parking lot and walk to the store the next time you go shopping. Avoid parking in the closest spot to the door, which is tempting, but opt to walk instead.

Tip # 4
Eat your favorite foods in moderation instead of cutting them out all together. There is no single food that will completely hinder your weight loss attempt but, if consumed excessively, it may. for example, simply limit your intake to just one candy bar or a miniature candy bar if you are really being careful. There is no reason to cut out your favorite food when a conservative amount of the things we love can still have a place in our lives, including during the times that we are focusing on weight loss.

Tip # 5
Whatever your exercise routine, set aside a certain time each day to do it. Rather than exercising only when you have time, set up a regular routine where you will be more likely to stay with it. The goal to a healthy weight loss is to make time.

Tips on the Fastest Way to Lose Weight

June 11th, 2009 by Patrick in Lose Weight

Tips on the fastest way to lose weight is something that anyone on a diet looks for. Waking up, stepping up to the scale and seeing a five pound weight loss is a dieters dream. But how can we make it reality? Is this achievable?

Actually, when you first start out on a diet, you can lose quite a bit of weight real quick, especially if you have a lot to lose. You will hear that much of it is water and this is true, but don’t worry, you are not dehydrating. It is an effect of detoxification.

On most healthy diets you will see quick results in the beginning, regardless of whether or not you limit calories, as your body celebrates the fact that it is no longer having to protect itself against the unhealthy foods that were being inflicted on it before.

To get the most out of this while staying clear of the yo-yo effect (where the weight goes right back on after you stop the diet), here are our top 5 tips on the fastest way to lose weight.

  1. Do not think about what you are NOT eating, concentrate on what you ARE eating.

If you think all the time about the foods you must not have, you will only want them more. Rather than focusing on foods you need to stay away from, take time to plan your meals. Choose good quality fresh vegetables and fruit. As you shop for, and then prepare the fruits and vegetables, try and gain some appreciation them.

  2. Make sure there are no upcoming food related events in the near future before you start your diet.

It is better to avoid holidays, parties and restaurant meals when you first start off on your diet. Now is the time to get a great start on the new you with fast weight loss, but if you don’t have discipline in the first few weeks, this can be easily ruined. Healthy eating needs to become a habit. After awhile, when you are used to eating healthy everyday, you can afford to be more flexible.

  3. Do not allow yourself to become too hungry …

When we become hungry, our natural response is to go for as many calories as possible, as quickly as possible, and so at that time your well thought out meal plan is likely to be totally forgotten in the rush to the fridge. Don’t let this happen. Even if you are not hungry first thing in the morning, have breakfast within 2-3 hours of getting up. Do not skip breakfast and wait for lunch.

  4. … however, you shouldn’t start snacking if you are not hungry.

Snacking when we are not hungry is one of the worst things that we can do if we want to lose weight. If you are not hungry, your body will not tell you it is time to eat, so it will not tell you when it is time to stop, either.

  5. Eat lots of the right foods at each meal.

Fill your stomach with plenty of ‘negative calorie’ foods like raw vegetables or vegetable soups every time you sit down to eat. Don’t limit your vegetable and fresh fruit intake at all, but have as much as you want, while cutting down on everything else. Do not eat again until you are hungry. This will help to keep you from always snacking.

You should always consult with a doctor before starting any diet. Then put all of these tips on the fastest way to lose weight together and you should see the pounds falling off in very little time.
